Day 1, Arrive in São Miguel, Azores
At the start of this wonderful tour on the island of São Miguel, Azores, your chauffeur will be waiting for you at the airport. You will head straight to a luxurious, 5 star hotel on the north side of the island, Relax in the spa suite and enjoy an array of treatments. Enjoy dinner at the Meia Nau restaurant, with panoramic views over the sea and creative, locally sourced menus designed by Chef Paulo Freitas.

Day 2, Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo & Liquor Factory
For your first full day on São Miguel, you will be discovering the most beautiful lakes on the island. On this private, guided tour you will explore the west side of the island. First location is the breathtaking Sete Cidades. With its distinctive blue, green hues you will see the lake from different perspectives, at a number of viewpoints. Take in the amazing nature and landscapes as you walk amongst the dense, green vegetation. Stop to enjoy a Portuguese picnic of local produce. For the afternoon, visit the Caldeira Velha Hot Springs where you can take a thermal bath in the natural water falls and springs. A must-do activity! Then, its onto a liquor factory for a guided tour, where you will see how the famous island liquor is produced and learn all about the process. The tour will end with a tasting. At the end of the day, your private driver will be waiting to transfer you back to the hotel.

Day 3, Cultural Tour
To begin this day of authentic experiences, your chauffeur will be waiting for you at your hotel. Today you will embark on a cultural tour, where you will meet local Azorean communities. Get to know the soul of the Azorean people on a journey that explores the island of São Miguel, revealing it´s history, traditions and cultural richness. Discover typical Azorean hospitality and friendliness and experiment with the flavours of the island’s traditional foods.Visit local museums, learning about the people, geology and religious art of the island and discover places where local handicrafts are still a daily part of life and a way to survive. An intimate and special day meeting the local Azorean people, which you will hold in your hearts for a lifetime.

Day 4, Furnas Valley & Tea Plantation
On this beautiful day on São Miguel, your chauffeur will be waiting for you at the hotel. This morning, you will visit Europe’s oldest tea plantation. Founded in 1883, the tea process still uses original traditions of the Orient, as well as the ancient qualities that have been in the family for five generations. Observe the entire tea process, from picking to packaging. The main machines are of British origin, dating from the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, a factor that attracts many visitors to the factory. Then you will head to Furnas, another mineral hot springs location with  unique volcanic origins. Relax in steamy, iron-rich pools, tucked amid lush green vegetation and tropical trees before enjoying a traditional Azorean stew, cooked inside the volcanic soil, exclusive from Furnas. After lunch, discover Vila Franca do Campo, the first city of São Miguel. Between the months of June to October, you may kayak over to the Islet: a nature reserve located approximately one km away from the coast with a salt water inlet inside.

Day 5, Permaculture Farm Experience & Lunch, leave for the airport
For your final day on the island, you will enjoy a guided tour of a permaculture farm. Learn all about regenerative farming, sustainable living practices and permaculture design principles; all to grow an abundant, diverse & productive system. We promise you will leave feeling inspired, having met people passionate about organic food, sustainable living and nature education. A delicious, organic, vegetarian lunch will be served at the end of the tour. Relax in this wonderful environment and enjoy this one last experience in nature, before your chauffeur will drive you to the airport.
Payment - A 25% deposit is required when booking this luxury tour. Final balance is due 60 days prior to arrival. For any bookings made within 60 days of the tour commencing, the full tour amount will be charged. Payment methods - We accept all credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express) and wire transfers. Cancellation - A 25% deposit is payable on confirmation of tour. This is non-refundable. Cancellations within 30 days of the tour commencing are non-refundable.
