Tour Plan

Chapel of Bones, Temple of Diana, High End Restaurant

To begin this wonder day in rural Alentejo, your chauffeur will be waiting for you at your hotel. Evora is a museum-city with roots dating back to Roman times. Explore the significant monuments such as The Cathedral of Evora, which was founded in the early 12th century and is the largest medieval cathedral in the country. The Roman Temple of Diana is a symbol of the Roman occupation of Portugal. It was erected in the first century AD in honour of Diana, the Roman goddess of hunting. The Chapel of Bones holds walls covered in bones and human skulls – a passage to Heaven and Hell – built by a Franciscan monk in the 16th century. For lunch, you will dine at a high end Evora restaurant, where you will taste regional foods and excellent wines.

Arraiolos `Village of Rugs´ & Tapestry Museum

Arraiolos is a pleasant Alentejo village, whose history dates back to the 2nd century BC and is well known internationally, thanks to the famous Arraiolos carpets which are produced here by the local craftspeople since the 16th century. Visit the Tapestry Museum, see the artisans at work, taste some amazing local pastries and admire the peculiar, circular castle.

Luxurious Wine Estate: Private Tour & Tasting

Your final experience will be a private winery experience where you will learn of the complexity of the wines, including the themes of grape varieties, microclimates and terroir. Marvel at the unique wine estates setting, with Márcio Kogan’s interiors, Promontório’s architecture and Michael Biberstein’s artwork. Included in the private guided tour is a tasting of three wines from the Alentejo region. At the end of this beautiful and unforgettable day, your chauffeur will return you to your hotel.
