Lisbon’s Contemporary Culture is a carefully curated, tailor-made day just for you.
Over the past few years Lisbon has undergone huge redevelopment and with that a new cultural scene has emerged. Contemporary art, third wave coffee shops, street art, artisan products and international cafes are popping up all over the city.
With exhibitions constantly changing, new pop-ups opening, events and festivals emerging, we will present you with a selection of the best Lisbon has to offer at the time when you are visiting. We will share with you the new artists, cool neighbourhoods and interesting places to eat and shop.
You will be accompanied on your tour by a cultural guide; contemporary art professional, Kasia Sobczak-Wroblewska. Kasia will talk with you prior to the day, to help create your perfect tour in Europe’s most creative and up-and-coming city.

Below are just some of the cultural options we can include in your tailor-made tour:
Contemporary Art Tour – Visit current contemporary art exhibitions or the artists at work in their own studios. Depending on the type of art you like, Kasia will find the best places for you.
Feira da Ladra – Alfama’s flea market is Lisbon’s most well known market of second-hand goods. It’s very popular so we always advise getting there early. Open on Tuesday’s and Saturday’s only.
Beato & Marvila – This up-and-coming neighbourhood was once a landscape of abandoned factories. It is now a creative hub, home to Underdogs Gallery, Fábrica Braço de Prata and Café com Calma.
Third Wave Coffee House – Depending on the area you are in, after lunch Kasia will take you to one of Lisbon’s trendy new coffee houses for a quick post-lunch pick-me-up.
LX Factory – A former collection of warehouses and factories in the Alcantara district. Now renovated into cool co-working spaces, bars, restaurants, pop-up shops and interesting wall art. On Sunday’s you can enjoy the weekly flea market.
Village Underground – Adjacent to LX Factory is the wonderful site of Village Underground. 14 maritime containers and 2 buses make up this creative space. Mainly a co-working hub, VU also hold creative events and there is a lovely cafe in which you eat inside the bus itself, sitting on the top deck.
Drinks with a View – Again, depending on where you are in the city towards the end of the tour, we will take you to a cool bar with a view for evening drinks.
Kasia will customise your day by finding out more about your interests then create an itinerary to suit you. If there is a particular place you wish to visit or type of art you wish to see, just let her know! We want to create your perfect tour.
