Over the past few years Lisbon has undergone huge redevelopment and with that a new cultural scene has emerged. Contemporary art, street art, cool neighbourhoods, coffee houses, cultural festivals and events are now found all over the city. On this unique tour you will be accompanied by art & cultural guide, Kasia Sobczak-Wroblewska.
Kasia is an independent curator, living and working in Lisbon. She holds a master’s degree in Philosophy with a specialisation in Aesthetics and Philosophy of Culture, as well as Art Criticism. She is co-founder of curatorial collective Da Luz and founder of Contemporary Art Tours Lisbon; a project focused on the art gallery scene in the city. She also recently graduated from the CuratorLab course at Konstfack University, Stockholm. Kasia is curious about independent spaces, pop-up events, artistic projects encompassing history and local stories, and the merging of Portuguese culture with international influences. With her experience, passion and local knowledge she is the perfect cultural guide for your day.

Beato & Marvila – This up-and-coming neighbourhood was once a landscape of abandoned factories. It is now a creative hub, home to Underdogs Gallery, Fábrica Braço de Prata and Café com Calma.
MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture and Technlogy – A new cultural centre for Lisbon, presenting national and international exhibitions by contemporary artists, architects and thinkers.
LX Factory – A former collection of warehouses and factories in the Alcantara district. Now renovated into cool co-working spaces, bars, restaurants, pop-up shops and interesting wall art. On Sunday’s you can enjoy the weekly flea market.
Village Underground – Adjacent to LX Factory is the wonderful site of Village Underground. 14 maritime containers and 2 buses make up this creative space. Mainly a co-working hub, VU also hold creative events and there is a lovely cafe in which you eat inside the bus itself, sitting on the top deck.
Electricity Museum – A unique and awe-inspiring building combining art and science. Discover the grand operation machinery, the history of electricity and it’s secret areas such as the boiler room and tunnels.
